Victoria, B.C. – November 3, 2025
In response to growing global unrest and the threat of escalating international conflict, a new grassroots initiative – InternationalPeaceCharter.org – is launching a worldwide peace campaign, starting in Victoria.
Founded by local philanthropist and former broadcast executive Miles Craig, the International Peace Charter is a non-profit movement dedicated to promoting peaceful resolutions to global conflicts through citizen engagement and diplomatic advocacy.
“With over 50 active wars and conflicts happening around the world, we cannot afford to remain silent,” said Craig. “It is time for citizens to use their collective voice to call for peace.”
The campaign’s core strategy is simple: encourage individuals around the world to send peaceful email appeals to their national leaders, urging them to commit to diplomacy, negotiation, and the principles of the International Peace Charter. With over 5.5 billion internet users globally, the initiative aims to mobilize millions of people in a show of global solidarity.
The Canadian campaign will begin in Victoria, with plans to expand internationally. Organizers are currently seeking support from local media, community organizations, schools, and faith groups to amplify the message and engage the public.
The International Peace Charter outlines a framework for peaceful conflict resolution, global cooperation, and mutual accountability – emphasizing that all nations share responsibility for de-escalating violence and fostering peace.
“World peace may be a complex goal, but the first step is simple: speak up,” said Craig. “This campaign gives people a way to act on their hope for a better, more peaceful world.”
